  3.     Washington lacks the will to effectively protest human
  4. rights abuse in China (WORLD, March 13). The squashing of
  5. dissident Fang Lizhi and the killing of Tibetans are merely the
  6. latest examples of inhumanity typical of the Chinese Communist
  7. Party. George Bush has raised only the wimpiest voice in
  8. objection. It will be up to us to protest. China desperately
  9. needs foreign currency, a major source of which is tourist
  10. dollars. Americans should renounce travel to China until it
  11. stops brutalizing its own people.
